Chinese Prayer Plaques

While in New York Andrea and I had some free time to visit an exhibit that had this large dome of Chinese prayer plaques that you can walk under (Sample 1 - 2). I had never heard of it till then. It was littered with rows and stacks of prayers and wishes. Imagine reading a whole wall of others most secret thoughts. A second part of the exhibit was to fold your own Origami Peace Crane and thousands cascaded from the ceiling. Later that night I was presented with a surprise gift of an Origami Iris Flower at dinner by someone I had met that weekend. It was a beautiful little gift. From a designers standpoint, it was an awesome exhibit.

2008 Olympic Opening Ceremony

The one thing I can't get over is the precision.
It was awesome to see on TV. I can't imagine how breathtaking it was in person.
